One Good Minute

To put a little context around the mish-mash of content you see on this blog, I am a writer with a love for many areas of nerd-dom and pop-culture looking to express myself and entertain others.  I do not do this for a living but it sure would be nice if I could.

This is not a news blog, per-se, as anything I post here is either already news on dozens of other blogs and sites or is about me and my life and so nobody really cares.

This is also not a links blog.  I do not want to become the Internet hub for collecting stories and links on any one topic.  I do not want to post links to every little thing I find that I think is cool because you can find your own cool stuff.

If this blog is to hold any interest to anyone it has to be in providing some level of original content.  That is why I started the “About” by describing myself as a writer.  Every post on this blog will be with some level of editorialization from myself.  Be it a one-liner or an extensive essay, you will know my thoughts.

My hope is that you will enjoy reading my thoughts, comment with your own thoughts and come back for more thought sharing.  If you have anything that you think I would find interest please email me at onegoodminute at gmail dot com and I will check it out and most likely post my thoughts.

So what is the deal with One Good Minute?  I have always loved the line from the Superchunk song The First Part “One good minute could last me a whole year”.

Find that moment of happiness; find as many as you can.

This blog is about moments that I think are worth sharing.  What’s going on in the world (well, the corners of the world that I’m actually paying attention to) that deserves to be noticed and that contribute to the good minutes in my life.
