This past weekend I saw Mudhoney live at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto, Ontario (September 10, 2011). This is my writeup of that show, complete with multimedia effects.
Yes, Mudhoney are still around (they put out an album as recently as 2008 called The Lucky Ones). More importantly, they still rock with the power of a billion suns. I have not been to a real rock show like this in years (not counting last year’s Superchunk show because I was sick) and I was instantly caught up in Mudhoney’s energy and surprised even myself by getting down and dirty in the pit for the entire show.

Fun fun fun. I love rock. They played all the songs you could possibly ask for (except Run Shithead Run). Thanks to Blogmented for getting the tickets.
The opening band was Metz, a grungy hardcore trio well suited to the venue and lineup.
